For the 2008 model year, the Civic Coupe introduces a leather-trimmed interior to the Civic lineup for the first time. Engine and Performance The 2008 Civic Coupe comes in four trims: DX, LX, EX, and EX-L. It is powered by a 140-horsepower 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Built on a high-rigidity unit-body platform, the Civic Coupe is designed to deliver precise, sharp, and refined handling performance with its McPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Body and Styling A sweeping roofline and a sleek windshield angle convey an advanced, one-motion profile with a low and wide stance. The interior focuses on sophisticated styling with a two-tier instrument panel, comfortable seating, and various storage areas with room for mobile phones, MP3 players, compact discs, and more. Safety Features Every 2008 Civic integrates a wide array of standard safety technologies that include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, side curtain airbags, driver and front passenger side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), and dual-stage, dual-threshold driver and front passenger airbags (SRS). Active front seat head restraints are designed to help reduce the severity of neck injury in the event of a rear collision.
